The Society has as its members very experienced professionals who have excelled in their respective professions and reached very senior positions and they continue to be very active after retirement from service. Four of them were in the Indian Administrative Service and retired as Secretaries to the Government of India having acquired rich experience of working in the fields of development of rural communities and areas, identification of their needs, feasible solutions, socio-economic-demand and availability of resources, planning and implementation of projects, formulation of programmes and policies and of monitoring and evaluation. One member was in the Indian Administrative Service but later joined the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN and acquired international experience in the sectors of Food and of Agriculture. Another Member is a reputed engineer by profession and works in the area of Renewable Energy.

Secretary to Government of India (Retd.), (Rural Development). Free lance Consultant working in the fields of Conservation of Water bodies, EIA, Renewable Energy including Small Hydro Power (SHP), vocational education and business management. He has worked with many reputed Indian and international organizations and institutions of excellence.  He has provided consultancy to State Government of Sikkim, Planning Commission, TCS and others. Mr Shankar has also been Additional Secretary in Ministry of Environment and Forest, and Joint Secretary in Department of Science and Technology. He has undertaken a large number of projects for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Planning Commission etc. He is the President of SVS.

Secretary to Government of India (Retd.), (Ministry of Health and I&B) is very active in the field of Public Health and Family Welfare, education and other developmental fields.

Secretary to Government of India (Retd.), has experience of policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation at the national and State levels of policies, programmes, projects in the field of Agriculture, Cooperation, Industry, and Renewable Energy.  He is the Managing Trustee of IFFCO Foundation and has undertaken many programs on rural development the latest being in the area of Microfinance

Secretary, IX Finance Commission, Govt. of India has vast experience of Finance, Road Transport, Rural Development, Education etc..

Having worked as J.S. in the Ministry of Agriculture joined the Food And Agriculture Organisation of the UN. He was till recently the Vice Chancellor of the Jamia Milia University.  He has worked at the District, State, Government of India Levels in the field of agriculture and related fields.

A very distinguished Chemical Engineer with specialization and experience in India and abroad in Renewable Energy, Bio-energy, Biofuels including Ethanol and Biodiesel, Biogas, Solar energy etc.  He  also has diversified experience in the process industries including alcohol , sugar, food  and other industries. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers and has been Chairman of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (NRC). He was Sr. Advisor to Center for Alternate Energy Research and was Advisor, Renewable Energy to Winrock International India. He has undertaken a large number of projects for prestigious organizations in the area of renewable energy including Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), industry etc. He has written a large number of articles related to Renewable Energy and has been invited to make presentations in many countries.  He is the General Secretary of SVS.

Chartered Accountant with experience in project financing, media and working for Developmental Projects.

Dr. M. M. Chaudhary an eminent educationist, specially in the field of audio-visual education.

Apart from the above members of the Society, a large number of experts assist SVS. As and when needed the society is in a position to mobilize the services of suitable consultants and professional the required disciplines for working on the project. The Society is also in a position to mobilize high quality institutions to work as partners for large projects or programs and has entered in to a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun to undertake studies and R&D related to renewable energy.
